Connect3pl Vocabulary Modified on Mon, 6 Nov, 2023 at 4:14 AM
To facilitate clear communication, we've provided a summary table below that outlines key terms as used in Connect3pl, along with their respective meanings within our system
Account | Account signifies the official initiation of a business relationship between Connect3PL and a client. Within this framework, an account may have one or more affiliated organizations. Upon a client's registration with Connect3PL, the system automatically generates a default organization. |
Organization | The concept of an organization lies at the core of Connect3pl. When the client signs up Connect3PL creates a new organization. When logging into Connect3pl, a user accesses a specific organization. Payment plans and any kind of transaction thresholds apply to the organization. Data is compartmentalized at this organizational level, with no data sharing between organizations. All reporting is done at the organizational level. |
Multiorganizational Setup | Establishing a multiorganizational setup is common for large enterprises or partners who want to onboard many clients. Connect3PL has reporting options for Multiorganizational Setup. |
Integration | Integration encompasses all the key services provided by Connect3pl. The integration itself serves as the mechanism to link up your online store, including platforms like Amazon, eBay, Shopify, ERP, or any other system you can link with our application. |
Order Source | Your sales channel is the source of your orders. This could be a marketplace or shopping cart like Walmart, Amazon, or Shopify. If your sale orders are routed through an ERP software like NetSuite or Cin7 Core that ERP system can also serve as an order source within Connect3pl. |
Fulfillment Destination | Fulfillment Destination is where your orders are sent for fulfillment and shipping. It might be 3PLs like ShipHero or ShipBob. You may have multiple fulfillment destinations in your Connect3PL account. |
Location | The locations typically correspond to different warehouses. A single fulfillment destination can have multiple locations, with each location representing a specific stock repository. Also locations may signify separate stock pools that require distinct handling. Connect3pl needs to have knowledge of these distinct stock locations within your fulfillment destinations to ensure orders are directed to the correct location. |
Order Routing | Order routing refers to the process of determining the most efficient location for an order to be sent for fulfillment. |
Shipping Order | Shipping Order is the document generated by Connect3PL to ship product(s) from a specific location. Connect3pl receives orders from the order source, determines order routing and sends shipping order to your fulfilment destination. Connect3PL may generate multiple shipping orders for one sale order if the sale order must be fulfilled from different locations. |
Fulfillment Feedback | Depending on 3PL provider Fulfillment Feedback may contain tracking information, carrier, and fulfillment status for different items in Shipping Order. Connect3PL sends this information to your order source to inform your customers on what has been shipped and provide link to track progress of shipment. |
